Within observation of 2012 Parliamentary elections, Civic Network OPORA investigates the activity of potential candidates to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in Rivne oblast. Today, politicians use not only outdoor and mass media advertising. They also started actively using internet, which is undoubtedly the best place for engaging voters.

You should agree that words "charity" and "patronage" became an indicator of ambitious intentions of certain politicians or parties. The increase in activity of Chernihiv Mayor Oleksandr Sokolov before elections was anticipated by local experts and regional mass media for a long time. Therefore, the public "named" creation of Charitable Foundation "The Future of Chernihiv" as the launch of campaign for parliamentary elections in district #205 by the Mayor of Chernihiv. 

In Volyn oblast has started the preparation for elections with the use of administrative resources of educational institutions in Lutsk city.

Mass dissemination of leaflets with the heading "Serhei Buberlo: I'm honored to report", discrediting one of candidates for the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from the Party of Regions Yurii Ternikov, was noticed after 25 June in Perevalsk rayon of Luhansk oblast (Territorial Election District (TED) #108) and Krasnyi Luch city.

On Sunday, 24 June, the opposition conducted primaries of candidates in one of the electoral districts (hereinafter - ED) in Ternopil oblast (ED No.165, with the center in Zhborov).  

On 20 June 2012 in Pervomaisk (Luhansk oblast), the police prevented representatives of Serhii Shakhov Charitable Foundation from establishing a playground in the residential area of Pervomaisk.

The leadership of National University of Water Management and Nature Resources Use (NUWMNRU) in Rivne changed last Monday. Instead of the famous professor Vasyl Gurin, who was a rector of this university for seven years, the institution will be headed now by ex-governor, a deputy of Oblast council from the Party of Regions Mykola Soroka.

One of potential candidates in Kherson is Andrii Putilov from the party UDAR, who is known for giving out gift sets for citizens. This candidate will compete against the current Mayor of Kherson Volodymyr Saldo, a representative of the Party of Regions.
