Leaflets entitled "Why you shouldn't vote for Serhii Ryzhuk" appeared today on Zhytomyr streets. The Head of Zhytomyr OSA was registered as a candidate from the Party of Regions in single-member district OED #62 on 7 August this year.

The Civil Network OPORA have already informed about the conflict in Kulykivka town, with a candidate for MP of Ukraine in district #208 Oleh Liashko involved, which took place during the celebration of the Independence Day. According to Oleksandr Bei, the Chairman of NGO "For Chernihiv", in addition to the published information, should be mentioned "inadequate behavior of Mr. Lyashko."

Serhii Biloshynskyi, 42-year old professor of the Philosophy and Political Science Department of Khmelnitsky National University, candidate of historical sciences and associate professor, shares his unbiased view on the beginning of the election campaign with a representative of the Civil Network OPORA.

The representative of the Civil Network OPORA interviewed a candidate for MP of Ukraine in single-mandate majoritarian election district #101, Chornovaienko Oleksandr Anatoliiovych. The candidate told about his aims and intentions, as well as plans on 2012 election campaign.

On 24 August, the CEC held draw determining the membership of 225 District election commissions during its evening meeting. Political parties, which nominated at least one candidate for MP of Ukraine, could participate in the procedure. According to the draw, only 19 political parties will have representation in DECs. 

Oleksandr Mykhailovych Volkov, who is a candidate in the voting district #158 (which includes rayon of Symu city situated across the river, Bilopillia, Krasnopillia and Sumy rayons - with center in Bilopillia) and a member of the Fatherland party, was quite open during the meeting with journalists

In 14 single member constituencies of Kharkiv oblast were registered 120 candidates, 40 of which (33%) are independent candidates (samovysuvantsi). Although the official campaign has started on July 30, the voters had the possibility to familiarize themselves with the whole range of agitation means of the candidates for deputy's mandates.

On 18 August the CEC finished registration of candidates in nationwide multi-member and single-member majoritarian districts Among popular trends of 2012 Parliamentary campaign is the participation of candidates-doubles, that is namesakes of prominent politicians. According to the analysis of CEC decisions, 'doubles' are standing as candidates in 31 single-member districts. Such tactic may lead to the confusion of voters on the election day. It was applied against 44 candidates.
