The Kremlin is ready to play the “hunger games” in order to weaken Ukraine and its wartime allies. Russia’s participation in the Black Sea Grain Initiative was accompanied by blackmail and threats to withdraw from the “grain agreement”, permanent sabotage of work of the Joint Coordination Center and implementation of systematic escalation policy. All of the aforesaid by no means contributed to global food security and stability.

Russia plans to hold so-called “elections” to the “legislative bodies” (in other words, occupation governments) in the occupied areas of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia oblasts as well as in 79 municipal districts this coming fall.

Last week (July 17–23), an explosion occurred on the Kerch Bridge. Kyiv did not confirm their involvement but emphasized that Crimea is the territory of Ukraine, and the illegally built bridge is a legitimate target. Russia withdrew from the grain deal and immediately began the massive shelling and destruction of our country's port infrastructure. Ukraine wants the “grain deal” to work without Russia, and alternative ways of export shall be found. Following the Ramstein-14, Ukraine will receive additional air defense systems, shells, and armored vehicles. The EU is preparing $20 billion for long-term support for Ukraine’s defense needs.

The number of Ukrainians abroad is growing. There are several reasons for it – security aspects, humanitarian issues, etc.

Over 82% of Ukrainians who left abroad take the most interest in the political developments in their Homeland. It was announced by the analyst of the Civil network OPORA, Olha Snopok, at the Media center Ukraine-Ukrinform during the presentation of the survey findings on migration, media consumption, and public and political involvement of displaced Ukrainians.

Ukrainian diaspora in the USA, Poland, and Germany are most active in their public and political activities abroad. It was informed by the Chair of the Board of the Civil network OPORA, Olha Aivazovska, at the Media center Ukraine Ukrinform. She announced the findings of the survey on migration, media consumption, and public and political engagement of displaced persons.

The decisions of Ukrainian people to return from abroad are mostly defined by the three following factors: emotional bond to the Homeland, resumed security in their region, and the willingness to reunify with their families.
