Changes in media consumption of Ukrainians due to the Russian full-scale invasion affected the approaches of media editorial offices and other content makers to the dissemination of their information. Experts from the media and relevant NGOs discussed this during the discussion "What is becoming the main source of citizens for news updates, politics and security" during the Donbas Media Forum, held in Kyiv on November, 10-11.

October 2023 was rich in foreign policy events and geopolitical shifts. Had it not been for Russia’s full-scale war, Ukrainians would have engaged in a heated political season in the lead-up to the parliamentary elections on Oct. 29, as well as the presidential elections in March of the upcoming year.

On October 31, 2023, hearings were held in the Subcommittee on International Human Rights of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development of the House of Commons of Canada. During the hearings, representatives of the Civil Network OPORA — Chairman of the Board and co-founder of the International Center for Ukrainian Victory Olga Aivazovska and international lawyer Andrii Mikheiev — were testifying.

In terms of mass migration processes inside the country and abroad, the organization of the first post-war elections will require solutions to many serious challenges. In particular, participation of internally displaced persons and members of the military will need to be provided, and prevention and combating electoral fraud in the out-of-country voting will have to be addressed. It was discussed by the representatives of the Central Election Commission, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, police, prosecutor’s office, people’s deputies, experts from international institutions and national non-governmental organizations during the round table on October, 24.
