In the town of Brovary (Kyiv Oblast), which is the center of the ED#97, a car with the advertisement of the “Radical Party of Oleg Lyashko” has been recorded.

The Chief of public relations division of the Main Department of the MIA in Kyiv oblast Mykola Zhukovych commented to Civil Network OPORA that the driver and the car have been removed to the local police department. The protocol has been mad up under the article 212-10 of the Administrative Code of Ukraine:

“Article 212(10). Violation of restrictions on election campaigning, campaigning on a referendum day”.

We remind that the Article 70(3) of the Law of Ukraine on Elections of Peoples’ Deputies of Ukraine states that “election campaigning on the day before voting and on a voting day is prohibited. At the same time prohibited are: mass actions (meetings, marches. demonstrations, pickets) on behalf of parties whose candidates are registered at the nation-wide constituency or candidates in single-member districts, distribution of advertising materials, as well as public announcements of support by parties or individual candidates of any concerts, performances, sports competitions, film and TV shows or other public events.”

“Election campaigning by a person, whose participation in election campaign is prohibited by the Law, election campaigning beyond the timeframe prescribed by the Law or in places prohibited by the Law, election campaigning in forms and by means that contravene the Constitution or the legislation of Ukraine or other infringements of election campaign restrictions set by the Law, except for cases under articles 212(9), 212(13), and 121(14) of this Code as well as campaigning on a referendum day carry the penalty of a fine for citizens from thirty to fifty personal tax-free allowances and for public officials – from fifty to eighty personal tax-free allowances.”
