Top priority efforts of Civil Network OPORA All-Ukrainian NGO include monitoring and analysis of election processes in Ukraine.
OPORA conducts civic election observation to provide a high-quality and unbiased assessment of an election process, and to prevent any violations of electoral legislation.
Since February 6, Civil Network OPORA has been conducting observation of early mayoral election in Kryvyi Rih. Observation campaign finishes when election outcomes are officially announced in accordance with the procedure established by the Law of Ukraine on Local Elections.
Guided by the principles of openness and constructiveness, OPORA conducts monitoring of the election campaign in an impartial and unbiased manner, remaining independent from all political parties and electoral subjects.
Close public attention to early election of Kryvyi Rih city mayor makes OPORA aspire to become the best professional observation team. We believe that only practical experience can secure successful and efficient work, which indirectly facilitates fair and democratic election. The whole organization's team is responsible for public trust in observation results. Taking into consideration such high demands to our observers, we do not attract any representatives of political parties or individuals close to candidates to our monitoring efforts, neither do we conduct any joint campaigns.
Civil Network OPORA does not organize any public fundraising, and does not collect donations or financial assistance to organize long-term and short-term observation of mayoral election in Kryvyi Rih. Financial assistance for monitoring campaign is provided exclusively by our international partners who share OPORA's values and understand importance of democratic elections, particularly the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
