OPORA's activists at two polling stations have noticed that voters took pictures of their ballots. In the first incident, reported from the polling station #740998 (school #9, sports hall, 21 Oleksandra Molodchoho St.), a young man escorted a voter to booth, waited till he's out, and took a picture of his ballot paper near the box. When observers started to ascertain circumstances, the young man left polling station. Some time later, they both were noticed getting into a car. Law-enforcement bodies were informed about the incident.
Another incident occurred at polling station #741013 (CE Housing maintenance office #6, hall, 9B Odyntsova St.). A voter came to vote with a child. He gave his ballot to the child near a box, revealing the mark on it, and took a picture. Later he explained that wanted to take a picture to remember the moment.
According to the Article 159 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, deliberate violation of the voting secrecy during election or referendum, when choice of a voter is intentionally disclosed, shall be punished with a fine or from one to three hundred of untaxed salary minimums, corrective labor for up to two years, or restriction on liberty for up to three years.
