Only 42% of voters will have a chance to vote in Donetsk oblast – INFOGRAPHICS
Yurii KhorunzhyiAccording to the information provided by observers of a joint monitoring campaign of the Donetsk Office of the Committee of Voters of Ukraine and Civil Network OPORA, 42% of voters will have an opportunity to vote in Donetsk oblast.As of 11:30 AM, 1,058 of 1,145 PECs planned to be opened in 12 districts of Donetsk oblast are opened, what is 92.4%. There are 1,464 polling stations in these districts.According to official data of the CEC, the total number of voters in Donetsk oblast is 3,368,242. However, only 1,416,142 voters will have a chance to vote at polling stations which have opened today. Thus, 42% of voters in Donetsk oblast can cast their votes.
About civic observation during the elections:
Civic monitoring conducted by the OPORA and Donetsk Oblast Office of the Committee of Voters of Ukraine AUNGO - is a type of network activity, aimed at impartial assessment of the preparation and conduct of elections, as well as preventing electoral violations through comprehensive civic action.
Starting from September 2014, Civil Network OPORA conducts a large-scale observation of special parliamentary elections in Ukraine. The organization will attract 213 long-term observers in every region of Ukraine to monitor the campaign from its official start to announcement of the final election results. On the Election Day on May 26, more than 2,000 activists will join them to conduct statistically-based parallel vote tabulation.
In Donetsk oblast the civic observation of the Parliamentary election process is conducted by the oblast office of the Committee of Voters of Ukraine.
