35 polling stations are open while 2 will remain closed within the ED#52, observers of the DOO of Committee of Voters of Ukraine and Civil Network OPORA joint monitoring campaign in Donetsk oblast have reported.
The polling station # 140719 opened late at 09:20 AM, reportedly the ballots were being counted there. The quorum was not present at the polling station #140725. 2 special polling stations #140723 and 140737 did not open and will remain closed.
The four more polling stations cannot be reached making it impossible to learn if they are open: #140722, #140728, #140729, #140730. All these stations are located in the villages belonging to the town of Dzerzhinsk.
Overall, there are 109 polling stations in the ED #52, but at this election only 46 were to be open. The ED includes the towns of Debaltseve and Dzerzhinsk controlled by Ukrainian army as well as Kalininskyi district of the town of Horlovka, controlled by the militants.
About civic monitoring of the election
Civic monitoring conducted by OPORA - is a type of network activity, aimed at impartial assessment of the preparation and conduct of elections, as well as preventing electoral violations through comprehensive civic action. Starting from September 2014, Civil Network OPORA conducts a large-scale observation of special parliamentary elections in Ukraine. The organization will attract 213 long-term observers in every region of Ukraine to monitor the campaign from its official start to announcement of the final election results. On the Election Day on May 26, more than 2,000 activists will join them to conduct statistically-based parallel vote tabulation.
Civic monitoring over the parliamentary election in Donetsk oblast is performed by the regional organization of the Committee of Voters of Ukraine.
