Citizens of Oleksandriia (election district #103; the center - city of Oleksandriia; district includes: city of Oleksandriia, Dolyna raion, Oleksandriia raion, Petrivske raion, Ustynivka raion) have united to clean streets, buildings, power line pillars and other objects from illegitimately placed campaigning materials of candidates and parties.

Participants of the movement say that they don't belong to any organization, and have united in reaction to inaction if communal services which do nothing about campaigning leaflets hanging all over the city. Young boys and girls organized their movement through social networks and named it "For clean elections".

The movement will stop its activities on the election day - 26 October. They are planning to actively clean the city till this day. The activists gather around 10 sacks of campaigning leaflets a day, leaflets that are placed in improper places.

According to the effective legislation, printed campaign materials or political advertising can be placed on outdoor advertising carriers.

Local self-government bodies shall determine places for campaign materials for the period of elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. Such places are: advertisement boards and pillars.

OPORA has already informed about numerous violations of law requirements related to the placement of campaigning materials on city streets by MP candidates in district #103 (1, 2, 3).

Civic monitoring conducted by OPORA - is a type of network activity, aimed at impartial assessment of the preparation and conduct of elections, as well as preventing electoral violations through comprehensive civic action.
Starting from September 2014, Civil Network OPORA conducts a large-scale observation of special parliamentary elections in Ukraine. The organization will attract 213 long-term observers in every region of Ukraine to monitor the campaign from its official start to announcement of the final election results. On the Election Day on May 26, more than 2,000 activists will join them to conduct statistically-based parallel vote tabulation.
