On 25 May, at around 7pm, unknown persons who told they are representatives of the self-defense and police officers, didn't let the journalist of the Tochka OPORY newspaper attend the meeting of TED #214. After the journalist called police, the problem was solved and he could enter. OPORA's representative has reported the crime, and the RSA became open to everyone legally allowed to enter.
According to the unknown persons who obstructed to professional activities of the journalist, they were instructed by the Head of KCSA that only members of election commissions can enter the RSA.
However, when he asked to show the abovementioned document, he was refused. Besides that, these persons didn't let to take video of them. One of these persons, who obstructed to professional activities of the journalist, said he was a policeman, bet refused to show the ID.
The TED #214 is one the second floor of the RSA, and had nothing to do with introduction of such strict permit restrictions. The Head of TEC has provided such information. Besides that, according to the OPORA's observer, the TEC#214 has ordered representatives of approximately 20 precinct election commissions to go correct the protocols till 2am. Protocol of the TEC is expected to be signed on late Wednesday. The DEC #214 has submitted electronic documentation to the CEC and is preparing to registration of the protocol with wet stamp.
Civic monitoring conducted by OPORA - is a type of network activity, aimed at impartial assessment of the preparation and conduct of elections, as well as preventing electoral violations through comprehensive civic action.
Since March, OPORA conducts a wide observation campaign during snap Presidential election, interim Parliamentary elections (district #83), and special local elections. The organization cooperates with 175 long-term observers, who are watching the course of election campaign in all Ukrainian regions. On the Election Day on May 25, 3,000 activists will join them to conduct the parallel vote tabulation, based on statistical sample.
