Оn 25 May, OPORA has organized the parallel vote tabulation, based on representative and statistically-based sample, during Kyiv Mayoral Elections. The sampling included 500 polls, and the margin of error is not higher than 4.7%.
OPORA's observers were accredited and specially trained. They were analyzing the election process from 7:15am and till the vote tabulation at polling stations ended. Every of them sent 11 reports to OPORA's call-center, which concerned:
- arrival at polling station;
- conduction of morning meeting,
- voter turnout (as of 12:00, 16:00, and 20:00, or when the voting ended),
- violations during the voting and vote tabulation,
- election results,
Parallel vote tabulation based on statistical sample is not a poll. It's a record of preliminary official data taken from protocols, which contain voting results from 500 precinct election commissions during Kyiv Mayoral Elections.
PVT is conducted independently by the Civil Network OPRA, in order to receive unbiased information about the accuracy of official results of voting during the Presidential election, no matter who wins.
On the basis of reports from 500 our PVT observers, OPORA may affirm with 99% confidence – when the CEC will announce the final results of Kyiv Mayoral Elections, they will be the following:
- Vitalii Klychko will receive around 55.8% of votes (with the margin of error 4.7%);
- Olesia Orobets will receive around 8.4% of votes (with the margin of error 0.2%);
- Volodymyr Bondarenko will receive around 7.8% of votes (with the margin of error 0.2%);
- Mykola Katerynchuk will receive around 5.1% of votes (with the margin of error 0.3%);
- Mykola Katerynchuk will receive around 2.5% of votes (with the margin of error 0.5%);
- Other candidates will receive 19% (with the margin of error 1.4);
- 1.5% of ballot papers will be considered invalid (with the margin 0.7%).
