In Dokuchaevsk, Donetsk oblast (DEC# 61) the representatives of so-called "People Republic of Donetsk" ( hereinafter PRD)massively close the precinct election commissions.This information was reported by the observers of joint monitoring campaign of Committee of Voters of Ukraine and Civil Network OPORA in Donetsk.

As stated by the Head of DEC #61, in the morning on May 25 four polling stations were visited by the representatives of PRD, who showed the "resolution of the cabinet of minister of the republic" claiming that the elections on its territory are illegal. Militants were sealing the buildings and destroying the documents.
Later on the central city square they announced that if the polling stations will continue organizing the election process in the city, then they will destroy not the equipment but the people.

As of 11:00 AM all 13 polls in Dokuchaevsk do not work. At the same time, the Head of DEC #61 claims that the voting process is active. At the moment about 100 polls work outside Dokuchaevsk.

On civic observation of the elections
Civic monitoring conducted by OPORA - is a type of network activity, aimed at impartial assessment of the preparation and conduct of elections, as well as preventing electoral violations through comprehensive civic action.
Since March, OPORA conducts a wide observation campaign during snap Presidential election, interim Parliamentary elections (district #83), and special local elections. The organization cooperates with 175 long-term observers, who are watching the course of election campaign in all Ukrainian regions. On the Election Day on 25 May, 3,000 activists will join them to conduct the parallel vote tabulation, based on statistical sample. In Donetsk oblast the civic observation of the Presidential elections is conducted by the oblast organization Committee of Voters of Ukraine.
