Vinnytsia oblast: There is only one ballot box at the PEC

According to the short-term observer of the Civil Network OPORA, the Head of the precinct election commission claimed that it is because they have very small number of voters.

 

However, it is a violation of the election laws because accrding to the Article 74, Part 5 of the Law of Ukraine on Elections of the President of Ukraine "Each polling station is provided by necessary number of ballot boxes - big (immovable), and small (portable).Ballot boxes have the measurements and are produces from a transparent material, which are determined by the Central Election Commission. A small polling station should have not less than two big and two small ballot boxes, a medium one - not less than three big and two small boxes, a big polling station should have not less than four big and three small boxes. Ballot boxes should be allocated at the polling station in a way that a voter on his way to the box have a possibility to walk through the cabins (rooms) for the secret voting."

Civic monitoring conducted by OPORA - is a type of network activity, aimed at impartial assessment of the preparation and conduct of elections, as well as preventing electoral violations through comprehensive civic action.Since March, OPORA conducts a wide observation campaign during snap Presidential election, interim Parliamentary elections (district #83), and special local elections. The organization cooperates with 175 long-term observers, who are watching the course of election campaign in all Ukrainian regions. On the Election Day on 25 May, 3,000 activists will join them to conduct the parallel vote tabulation, based on statistical sample.
