On 14 May 2014, at 11:30am, in the UNIAN Information Agency (4 Khreshatyk St.), the press-conference titled "Presidential Election: The process continues, threats are still topical" will be held by the Civil Network OPORA.

Parliamentary and electoral programs coordinator of the Civil Network OPORA Olha Aivazovska and OPORA's analyst Oleksandr Kliuzhev will present the interim report on the summary of election monitoring campaign, and explain main threats of election process disruption on the certain territories. Besides that, they will present an interactive Map of violations "2014 Elections", which is updated in real-time.

May 6 was a deadline for the creation of over 33 thousand precinct election commissions (PECs). However, not all the oblasts managed to do it in time, and some PECs still lack of hundreds employees. Stirring up of "separatist movements", and armed unknown persons, particularly in the certain settlements, endanger the functioning of some precinct and district election commissions in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. Nevertheless, most of Presidential candidates still make campaign visits to regions, but not to eastern ones, however. These and other peculiarities of the election campaign, as well as recommendations for normalization of the situation and overcoming the threat that the elections can be disrupted, will be presented by:

  • Olha Aivazovska, Electoral and Parliamentary Programs Coordinator of the Civil Network OPORA;
  • Oleksandr Kliuzhev, OPORA's analyst.

Journalist registration is conducted on-the-spot by press accreditations.
