Cherkasy oblast: Members of the PEC are issuing ballot papers without verification of passport

In election precincts #710193, 710191, 710188 (district #197) in villages, the following tendency is observed: commission members don't ask to show passports before the voting because "everybody knows each other". After OPORA observers had made a remark, commission members started demonstratively asking to show the passport, and barely look at the documents when the voters show them. Besides that, they add: "Observers want that you show the passport".

According to the Article 85(3) of the Law of Ukraine on Elections of the People’s Deputies of Ukraine, a voter has the right to vote after he shows one of the documents, including passport.
