Civil Network OPORA has presented a site rada.oporaua.org, aimed to increase citizen awareness of parliamentary activities, and to ease journalists' efforts when preparing materials. The event was held in the Chasopys creative space on October 14.

"The information portal will openly provide materials in open data format, what is still unavailable on the official web site of the Verkhovna Rada. Therefore, not once-created charts or word documents, but timely updated analytical information, will be available to everyone. We also hope that dutiful MPs will show interest to our work instead of ignoring or criticizing it. Open data allows systematically assess parliamentary activities,"– explained the Electoral and Political Programs Coordinator of the Civil Network OPORA Olha Aivazovska.

The site rada.oporaua.org provides various information about the Verkhovna Rada:

  •           The section "Statistics" contains ratings of MPs, profiles of MPs with reference information, their attendance during voting and meetings of committees. There is also statistical information on how factions voted for all draft laws considered by the VRU of VII convocation. Besides that, the site will give the possibility to automatically compare joint voting of factions.
  •           OPORA's journalists are assiduously watching events in the Verkhovna Rada and other government bodies.  The section "Read" contains information on activities in committees, OPORA's analytical reports, and news from the session hall.
  •           OPORA and the 5th Channel are jointly producing the TV program Dear Deputies. Fresh series of the program is published on the site every week. Besides that, this section also contains photo reports of conferences, roundtables, and other events which concern the parliamentarism and the VRU of VII convocation.
  •           The section "Documents" contains minutes of committee meetings and answers to OPORA's inquiries regarding activities of the Verkhovna Rada.
  •           OPORA is also following MPs on Twitter, and updates of their tweets are available on the site.

Rada.oporaua.org will urge the Members of Parliament to conscientiously fulfill their duties.
