Unknown with travel tickets are trying to vote in Vasylkiv
On the PEC #321286 in Vasylkiv, an unknown with travel ticket in passport was illegally trying to receive ballot paper.
According to OPORA's activist, a commission member wanted to give a ballot to a man, whose registration didn't correspond to those required for participation in special elections of Vasylkiv City Mayor. The police was called to the place of incident.
According to the man with travel ticket, he was called from Kyiv and proposed to be paid for supporting the certain candidate. To do this, he was supposed to come to any of two tables standing closer to the entrance in polling station.
The police is currently verifying the information.
We remind that OPORA's observers have already noticed similar incidents on the other polling station. Such persons were also showing travel tickets.
PEC has removed candidate's proxy from the station
On the PEC #321277 in Vasylkiv, the commission has decided to remove from the polling station the deputy of Kyiv City Council from AUU Svoboda Liubov Sotska, who was putting questions to members of the PEC and recorded everything on video. Ms. Sotska was a proxy of a candidate for City Mayor from the opposition Serhii Sabov. Therefore, removing her from the PEC is a violation.
According to OPORA's observer, Ms. Sotska asked why bags belonging to commission members are in the room and why not all the ballot papers are on tables. Members of the PEC have answered that there is no other room where they could have left their personal stuff, and concerning ballots – that it's a precaution to prevent their destruction.
Journalists and observers, which were present at the polling station, started demanding that she left the premises. After the Commission took decision, Ms. Sotska went out the polling station convoyed by a policeman.
Citizens can't receive ballot papers because of errors in voter lists
Members of precinct election commissions are poorly prepared to the election process. The following fact proves that: in the PEC #321285, commission members refused to give citizens ballot papers if there were errors in voter lists, or when people asked for new ballot papers when they made mistakes in those they already received.
According to the Article 22 of the Law of Ukraine on the Elections of Deputies to the Verkhovna Rada of Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Deputies of Local Councils, Village, Town and City Heads, the Head, Deputy Head, and the Secretary of Precinct election Commission should correct inaccuracies and errors in preliminary voter list, particularly wrong spelling of surnames, names (all proper names), patronymic (if any), birth date, apartment or building number, if it's obvious that the very present on polling station voter is included to the voter list, despite such technical errors.
Besides that, on the PEC #321286, an old woman asked commission members to give her another ballot, because she made a mistake when voting. Members of the PEC have refused to do so, despite the legislation provides such procedure. After commission members refused to give a new ballot paper, the woman had put her ballot with a mistake into the ballot box.
