In Berdychiv of Zhytomyr Oblast, campaigning materials of candidates for People's Deputy are placed in violation of the legislation, and have no imprints.
According to the long-term observer of the Civil Network OPORA in the SMED No.63, campaigning posters of the candidate for People's Deputy of the Party of Regions Oleksandr Reveha were massively pasted up on children's amusement rides in the City Culture and Recreation Park, and inside the suburban coach station.
A huge campaigning banner of another candidate in the same district — a self-nominated candidate Sviatoslav Piskun — covers the entire wall of a tower block and has no imprint.
OPORA emphasises the violation of the Law of Ukraine On Election of People's Deputies of Ukraine, Article 7, Paragraph 8, “no printed political advertisement shall be placed on the outer surface or inside public transport including taxis, political advertisement on the premises of underground stations, coach and railway stations, ports and airports as well as distribution of election campaign materials including political advertisement through TV, radio and other information networks informing passengers, and information boards inside the stations and coaches of underground, coach and railway stations, ports and airports, and public transport.”
Article 69, Paragraph 7. Printed campaigning materials shall contain information on the commissioner of these materials, the institution who did the printing, or an indication that the printing was done using the equipment owned by the party, circulation, and information on persons responsible for the publication.
Article 74, Paragraph 22. It shall be prohibited to publish and distribute printed campaigning materials which contain no information about the commissioner of these materials, the institution who did the printing, their circulation, and information on persons responsible for the publication.
