After the monitoring of activities of the City council the OPORA activists addressed to the city mayor with the request to support the initiative "Steps to improve the transparency of the Cherkasy City Council activites." In particular, they formulated three proposals, which are available here. Due to the above-mentioned address the new page appeared on the official website of the City Council, which will now be for the agenda of city council sessions. According to OPORA activists, these changes demonstrate the commitment of the City Council to maintain the transparent work.

Unfortunately, the city council took into account only one proposal, because it is also important for the council to reveal not just a list of issues bearing on the session, but the content (projects of decisions). It is also worth considering a proposal for early disclosure of the date, time and place of meetings and about the attendance of the sessions. It is worth pointing that the collecting of such data doesn’t require additional working time of city council, because all data is in electronic form, so it is only to be placed regularly at the city council website.

These changes are good faith of the mayor and heads of staff of the municipality, and therefore they can be lost after rotation of the heads of city government. So this procedure of releasing of information online should be included to the agenda.
