Civil Network OPORA continues the publication of illustrative material to the thesis of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of Ukraine on “the absence of recorded facts of bribery during the admission campaign 2011.
On the official website of the prosecution of Chernivtsi region appeared information, that on 30th of August 2011, Shevchenko regional prosecutor's Office in Chernivtsi detained the executive secretary of admission of one of the establishments of higher education in Chernivtsi. According to it, he received a bribe for admission of an applicant.
Chernivtsi office of Civil Network OPORA applied to the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University for a comment. The detainee turned out to be an executive secretary of the admission commission of the university, Kholodnytskyi Vasyl Fedorovych. We’ve also got information that prosecution officers conducted a search at the workplace of Vasyl Fedorovych and confiscated several documents. According to unconfirmed information, the applicant tried to enter the university's Faculty of Law.
According to the press-service of the prosecution of Chernivtsi region: “30 August 2011, officers of Shevchenko regional prosecutor's Office in Chernivtsi together with SSFEC of MIA in Ukraine in Chernivtsi region detained the executive secretary of admission commission of one of the establishments of higher education in Chernivtsi, who had received a bribe in amount of 800 EURO for admission from an applicant. Against the executive secretary was filed a criminal case (Article 368 (3) “Receiving a bribe by means of demanding”. He was detained under the Article 115 of CPC of Ukraine, primary investigation is being held.
