The Civil network “OPORA” wants to remind the minister Dmytro Tabachnyk who claimed that there were no facts of bribery during the admission campaign, about certain incidents that were noticed and shouldn’t be forgotten.
We remind that on August, 2nd,during the press conference, the minister claimed that this year the admission to the universities was honest and there were no cases of bribery detected. Particularly, as Mr. Tabachnyk said, “for August, 2nd there were no such facts registered in militia, security service or the tax inspection”.
The civil network “OPORA” that maintains the public watching of the admission campaign in the universities and observes the enrollment process in the regions of Ukraine, draws attention to recent media messages that contradicts the claims of Minister. We’d like to remind about the fact of criminal case initiation by the public prosecution of Zakarpattya region against the lecturer of Mukachevo State University. According to the message, the lecturer was detained on July, 23rd when he was taking the bribe of USD 1000 for further transfer to the person who had to favor the well-passed exam and graduation to the distant form of studying.
One more case was registered in Drohobych, Lviv region. As it is stated on a local media resource, on July, 19th the chair of the Drohobych Ivan Franko State Pedagogical University was detained while taking the bribe. EU 750 had to help the graduate to be admitted on the distant study.
In addition to this, in the neighboring Ternopil region for the similar violation the deputy dean of Chortkiv Institute of Management and Business was detained. Now the bribe was as big as USD 2 000.
The Civil network OPORA calls for the Ministry of Education, Science, Youth and Sports to speak in details about multiple facts of initiation of criminal cases against the university officials in 2011 upon the bribery cases and assume measures to avoid them.
