Non-residents of Ukraine feel certain obstacles during filing the documents to the universities. The citizen of Georgia in Cherkasy can’t file the documents because of absent patronymic; hence the Georgians have only names and surnames. Despite all this, she has succeeded in passing the EIT and now she has all chances to study on the state budget place, - she has high testing score and has a possibility to live in Ukraine.
Particularly, it was problematic to check the certificate points by the admission board, hence it is necessary to fill in the “patronymic” field, and it was impossible for the graduate. She visited her personal page on the UCEQE website and demonstrated the data to the admission board members. The members of the admission board checked the equivalence of the data but couldn’t help the graduate. So the girl had to go to Kyiv, to the central office of the UCEQE and solve the problem there. It is worth mentioning that UCEQE hasn’t answered yet to the request of the university.
The admission board members claim that this is not the first such situation but for some reasons UCEQE hasn’t managed to fix the system bugs. Last year the same problem occurred with the graduates having the name consisting of few words, as the citizens of Arabian countries. So, we can make a conclusion that the Ministry of education, science, youth and sports don’t encourage the residents of other countries to graduate Ukrainian universities, - it only creates obstacles for this.
