According to the message of the CN “OPORA”, the graduates send their complaints because the university administrations haven’t given the bachelor diplomas yet. So the graduates wanting to continue studying in other universities have no time to file the documents (including the copies of the diplomas and the supplements) to the admission committees before July, 20th – before the end of issuing of the applications.
The bachelor of the National Agriculture University appealed to OPORA with such problem: he wanted to continue studying in the National Lviv Polytechnic University. But the admission committee didn’t accept the documents hence he had neither diploma cum laude to acknowledge the educational degree nor the certificate about receiving the bachelor degree. In his native university the young man was told that he will be given a diploma in the end of the month because they are still printed in Kyiv. The confused graduate came to the office of CN “OPORA” where he was helped to make an application to the dean of the university and claimed for the explanations to the department of higher education of the Ministry of education, science, youth and sports.
We received the answer with the information that on July, 11th the scientific-methods center of the agriculture policy took the diplomas for passing them to the delegate of Lviv National Agriculture University.
The diplomas cum laude, as it is stated in the letter, will be given to the graduates of different educational and professional degrees till July, 15th. (the answer is attached). The graduate took the response and the application and went to the admission committee of the university.
The university administration reacted immediately and today, on July, 14th, the graduate got the bachelor diploma cum laude. Now he can file all the necessary documents to the admission committee of the Lviv National Polytechnic Institute and take part in the contest.
The experts of CN “OPORA” understand the motives of the university authorities and the absence of wish to lose the bright and talented students. But we call for the universities not to create the borders for those who wish to get the masters’ degree in other university and to concentrate on the own competitive ability instead.
